Palm Springs officials Tuesday announced that construction will commence this week along Palm Canyon Drive, prompting temporary lane closures.
Construction for the South Palm Canyon Bridge project will occur between Sunny Dunes Road and south of the bridge from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily until April 14, officials said.
They advised residents to use alternate roads.
The bridge will be a 98-foot-long span across Tahquitz Road meant to improve safety, traffic flow and mobility, according to the project’s website.
