The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Friday for the 10th time in 11 days, decreasing seven-tenths of a cent to $4.67, a day after dropping 1.2 cents.
The average price has dropped 8.2 cents over the past 11 days, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It dropped six consecutive days, was unchanged Monday and resumed dropping Tuesday.
The average price is 4.9 cents less than one week ago and 61.8 cents lower than one year ago but 15.9 cents more than one month ago. It has dropped $1.703 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped seven-tenths of a cent to $3.164, one day after a three-day streak of increases totaling 2 cents ended when it was unchanged.
It is three-tenths of a cent more than one week ago and 2.5 cents higher than one month ago but 49.3 cents less than one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.852 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
“Oil Price Information Service reports that a couple of Los Angeles area refineries are experiencing unplanned outages, but so far that has not affected the downward trend for gas prices,” said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
