The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped seven-tenths of a cent Sunday to $4.685, its second consecutive decrease after a nine-day streak of increases.

The average price is 3.1 cents more than one week ago, but 3.4 cents less than one month ago and 40.2 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.688 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped seven-tenths of a cent to $3.178. It is 4.3 cents more than one week ago and 1.7 cents more than one month ago, but 41.4 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.838 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
