Concerns mounted Friday regarding the welfare of a 66-year-old Beaumont man missing after wandering away from his home earlier this week.

John Fluence was last seen Tuesday near the intersection of East Eighth Street and North Highland Springs Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol. His whereabouts were unknown Friday.

The CHP, on behalf of the Beaumont Police Department, issued a “Silver Alert” covering the entire Inland Empire, asking anyone who may have seen Fluence to contact authorities.

Silver Alerts are specifically designated for seniors and others considered “at-risk.”

There was no mention of Fluence’s underlying health issues.

Relatives told police that about 11 a.m. Tuesday, he left home without saying where he was going.

The missing man is Black, 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 140 pounds. He has relatively short black-gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a light-blue sweatshirt, gray pants and dark-colored shoes.

Anyone with information that may aid law enforcement in locating Fluence was asked to call 911.
