Concerns were mounting Wednesday regarding the welfare of an 84-year-old San Jacinto man who went missing after leaving home in his vehicle and not returning.

Jerry Binderim was last seen Tuesday in the area of Cottonwood Avenue and North State Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.

His whereabouts were unknown Wednesday.

The CHP, on behalf of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, issued a “Silver Alert” covering the entire Inland Empire, as well as Los Angeles and Inyo counties, asking anyone who may have seen the senior to contact authorities. Silver Alerts are specifically designated for seniors and others considered “at-risk.”

The state of Binderim’s health was not mentioned in the alert.

His loved ones told deputies that about 11 p.m. Tuesday, he drove off without saying where he was headed.

The missing man is Caucasian, 6 feet tall and 250 pounds. He has normal length gray hair and hazel eyes. There was no word regarding what he may have been wearing.

Binderim’s vehicle is a white 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. The license plate number is A-Z-7-0-6-D-P.

Anyone with information that may aid law enforcement in locating the man was asked to call 911.
