The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Wednesday for the 22nd time in 23 days, decreasing 2.3 cents to $4.374.

The average price has dropped 32.7 cents over the past 23 days, including 2.3 cents Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It dropped 20 consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Monday and resumed dropping Tuesday.

The average price is 13.6 cents less than one week ago and 39.4 cents lower than one month ago, but 9.4 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.999 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped for the 19th time in 20 days on Wednesday, falling a half-cent to $2.94. It has dropped 16 cents over the past 20 days, including seven-tenths of a cent on Tuesday.

The national average price dropped 12 consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent last Wednesday, then resumed decreasing Thursday. It is 5.9 cents less than one week ago, 13.1 cents lower than one month ago and 7.1 cents below what it was one year ago.

The national average price has dropped $2.076 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
