Actress and author Jennie Garth will close the seventh season of “Palm Springs Speaks,” an annual series of lecture events benefiting the city’s public library, it was announced Tuesday.
Garth gained notoriety for her role as Kelly Taylor in “Beverly Hills, 90210,” which ran for 10 seasons during the 1990’s. She created a clothing line for QVC named “Me by Jennie Garth” and has a podcast on iHeart radio called “I Choose Me with Jennie Garth.” In addition, Garth is an advocate for women’s wellness and a supporter for the American Heart association.
Garth will discuss her career and book, “I Choose Me: Chasing Joy and Finding Purpose and Embracing Reinvention,” during her appearance on April 21 at the Plaza Theatre, 128 S. Palm Canyon Drive.
The first speaker in the series will be actor and art collector Cheech Marin in conversation with Manny “The Movie Guy” Dela Rosa on Feb. 10. Author and journalist Wade Rouse will be in conversation with Steven Rowley on Feb. 24, and genetic genealogist CeCe Moore will appear on March 30.
The series is presented by Friends of the Palm Springs Library.
