Warm temperatures and clear skies were expected this week throughout Riverside County, forecasters at the National Weather Service said Monday.

“Not much change in high temperatures is expected for today with high temperatures a few degrees above average,: said the NWS. “High temperatures for today will range from the mid to upper 60s near the coast to the 80s for the Inland Empire with 100 to 104 for the lower deserts.”

Sunday’s temperatures reached a high of 88 in the downtown Riverside area, 84 in Temecula, 90 in Hemet, 101 in the Coachella Valley and 99 in Palm Springs, according to the National Weather Service.

“Today is pretty representative of what the rest of the week will look like,” the NWS said Sunday.

Highs were expected to fluctuate only a few degrees through Thursday, before a possible cool down next weekend.

“Broad troughing over the northwest U.S. late week into the following week will likely lead to at least a slight cooling trend locally,” the NWS added.
