The Los Angeles Kings broke their six-game home winning streak Thursday night with a 2-1 loss to the New York Islanders at the Staples Center.
After they tied up the game 1-1 in the first period, the Kings were unable to score another goal, forcing a shootout.
Dwight King scored the Kings’ only goal of the game with an assist from Mike Richards.
With the loss to the Islanders, the Kings now sit at 7-4-3 for the season.
The Kings will host the Vancouver Canucks Saturday night at the Staples Center at 7 p.m. and will then head to Anaheim on Wednesday to face the Ducks.
