Former Seattle Seahawks tight end Jerramy Stevens, the husband of women’s Olympic soccer star Hope Solo, was charged with two misdemeanor DUI counts that could land him up to one year in jail.

Stevens, 35, of Kirkland, Washington, was arrested Jan. 19 in Manhattan Beach after he was pulled over for driving without his headlights on, according to police.

Stevens was released with a citation ordering him to appear at the Torrance Courthouse on March 19.

He is facing one count each of driving under the influence of alcohol within 10 years of an earlier DUI charge and driving with a .08 blood-alcohol content, exceeding the legal limit. The maximum sentence for the two misdemeanor counts is one year in jail, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

The arrest came hours after Stevens’ former team defeated the Green Bay Packers and earned a trip to the Super Bowl.

Solo, the goalie for the U.S. Women’s National Team and a former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant, was in the car with Stevens during the traffic stop and arrest. The website TMZ reported that Solo, 33, used her cell phone to record the arrest and argued with officers, nearly leading to a disorderly conduct arrest.

Solo was subsequently hit with a 30-day suspension from the soccer team, which issued a statement citing “a poor decision” that negatively impacted the team.

Solo was reinstated Feb. 21 and played as the team beat France to win the Algarve Cup last Wednesday.

Stevens was arrested in November 2012 for allegedly assaulting Solo before their wedding, but no charges were filed.
