Victor Espinoza, who rode American Pharoah to thoroughbred racing’s first Triple Crown since 1978 last year, will throw the ceremonial first pitch before Friday night’s Los Angeles Dodgers-Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Freeway Series game at Dodger Stadium.
The national anthem will be sung by county singer/songwriter Dani Rose, the lead singer of the female trio Honey Country.
U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Eric Davis of Eagle Rock will be honored as the Military Hero of the Game.
Auto gates will open at 4:40 p.m. and stadium gates at 5:10 p.m., with the first pitch set for 7:10 p.m.
The Freeway Series is set to conclude Saturday at Angel Stadium. The Angels won Thursday’s series opener, 2-1, at Dodger Stadium, with Todd Cunningham singling in Rey Navarro with the tie-breaking run with two outs in the eighth inning.
Today’s game will be the last at Dodger Stadium until the Dodgers sold- out home opener April 12 against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
