rams logoLos Angeles Rams starting free safety Lamarcus Joyner will miss Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys because of a hamstring injury, coach Sean McVay said.

Joyner’s backup, Cody Davis, was the other Ram to miss Friday’s practice at California Lutheran University and is listed as questionable because of what McVay called “a little tweak in his quad.”

McVay said he was optimistic about Davis being able to play in Sunday’s game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Starting center John Sullivan is also listed as questionable because of a hip injury sustained in the third quarter of a 41-39 victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Sept. 21.

Sullivan had limited participation in Thursday and Friday’s practices, meaning he took part in less than 100 percent of his usual repetitions.

Cornerback Kayvon Webster will return to the starting lineup after missing the past two games because of a shoulder injury sustained in the season- opening 46-9 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sept. 10, McVay said Friday.

The Rams will miss Joyner “a lot” Sunday “especially with just the playmakers that they do have on the offensive side of the ball,” McVay said.

“He is such a great competitor and he does so many different things for our defense,” McVay said of Joyner, who was injured early in the second quarter of the San Francisco game

“The effort, the energy that he plays … snap in and snap out … raises the level of play with the guys around him.”
