U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant Major Abel Leal will be honored as the Military Hero of the Game Saturday evening as the Los Angeles Dodgers play host to the Milwaukee Brewers at Dodger Stadium.

Leal enlisted in 1993. He has served on deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq, the Mediterranean, Africa and Japan.

Leal is assigned to Marine Aircraft Group 16, based at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. The group provides air support to Marine Air-Ground Task Force commanders.

Leal’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Marine Corps Commendation Medal and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.

The first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive a bobblehead of Dodger first baseman Cody Bellinger. Bellinger leads the National League with eight home runs and 21 RBIs and is second with a.417 batting average.

A member his family will throw the ceremonial first pitch.

On Sunday, the Dodgers will allow children 14 years old and under to run the bases following the game and will conduct the second of three youth baseball and softball pregame parades.
