Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched the Dodgers’ first complete game of 2025 and Teoscar Hernández and Max Muncy homered in a 5-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers Tuesday in Milwaukee in Game 2 of the National League Championship Series.
Yamamoto pitched a three-hitter, shutting out the Brewers after Jackson Chourio hit his first pitch for a home run, struck out seven and walked one as the Dodgers took a two games to none lead in the best-of-seven series.
Game 3 will be played Thursday at Dodger Stadium.
The Dodgers took a 2-1 lead in the second on Hernandez’s one-out homer. Kiké Hernández singled one out later and scored on Andy Pages’ double.
Muncy hit a two-out solo homer in the sixth in front of a crowd at American Family Field announced at 41,427.
Kiké Hernández doubled leading off the seventh, and moved to third on Pages’ sacrifice, prompting manager Pat Murphy to replaces Abner Uribe with Aaron Ashby, the third of six pitchers for Milwaukee.
Shohei Ohtani fouled off two 2-2 pitches, then singled to right, driving in Kiké Hernández and ending a 1-for-23 slump with 11 strikeouts, including two earlier Tuesday.
Will Smith singled leading off the eighth, moved to second on Muncy’s walk, third on Teoscar Hernández’s ground out and scored on Tommy Edman’s single.
Brewers starter Freddy Peralta (1-2) was charged with the loss, allowing three runs and five hits in 5 2/3 innings, striking out four and walking one.
