The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose seven-tenths of a cent Monday to $4.650, one day after a three-day streak of decreases totaling nine-tenths of a cent ended with an increase of two-tenths of a cent.
The average price is one-tenth of a cent more than one week ago, but 15.4 cents less than one month ago and 14.8 cents lower than one year ago, according to figures from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.843 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price rose one-tenth of a cent to $4.573, one day after remaining unchanged. It is one-tenth of a cent more than one week ago, but 15 cents less than one month ago and 12.5 cents lower than one year ago.
The Orange County average price has dropped $1.885 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose two-tenths of a cent to $3.22, one day after a streak of 11 consecutive increases totaling 9.8 cents ended when it dropped one-tenth of a cent. It is 8 cents more than one week ago and 2.4 cents higher than one month ago, but 22.7 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.796 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, which provides real-time gas price information from more than 150,000 stations, wrote on social media Sunday “I am expecting the national average price of gasoline to rise an additional 10-30c/gal in the days ahead,” due to the Iranian response to the American bombing of three of its nuclear plants.”
