The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Saturday to its lowest amount since Jan. 15, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent to $4.466.

The average price has dropped five consecutive days, decreasing 2.6 cents, including four-tenths of a cent Friday, after back-to-back increases totaling a half-cent, according to figures from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 2.1 cents less than one week ago, 14.6 cents lower than one month ago and 15.8 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $2.027 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped for the fourth time in five days, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $4.416. It has dropped 1.6 cents over the past five days, including four-tenths of a cent Friday.

The Orange County average price dropped Tuesday and Wednesday, was unchanged Wednesday and resumed dropping Thursday.

The Orange County average price is 1.7 cents less than one week ago, 13 cents lower than one month ago and 14.9 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $2.042 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped 1 cent to $3.15, one day after a streak of three consecutive increases totaling 2.2 cents ended with a decrease of two-tenths of a cent. It is a half-cent more than one week ago but 7 cents less than one month ago and 36.8 cents lower than one year ago.

The national average price has dropped $1.866 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
