A hit-and-run collision left a pedestrian with serious injuries in Panorama City and police Wednesday were seeking the public’s help in locating the renegade driver.
Los Angeles Police Department officers responded at 11:35 p.m. Tuesday to the intersection of Roscoe Boulevard and Tobias Avenue where they found the pedestrian, described as a man in his 20s, lying in the roadway.
Police say he had been walking in westbound traffic lanes on Roscoe west of Tobias when he was hit by a brown or gold-colored van.
“The vehicle stopped at the north curb ahead of the collision, before continuing (west on) Roscoe Boulevard,” according to an LAPD statement. “The driver of the van failed to stop, identify (them) self, or render aid as required by law.”
Anyone with information about the crash was urged to contact the LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division at 818-644-8116 or 818-644-8020 to speak with Officer Takishita.
Rewards of up to $25,000 are available for information leading to the offender’s identification and conviction.
