The streak of increases that boosted the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County to its highest amount since April 10 was extended Monday to 12 days, but barely, rising one-tenth of a cent to $4.887.
The average price has increased 26.4 cents over the past 12 days, including four-tenths of a cents Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 11.9 cents more than one week ago, 16.6 cents higher than one month ago and 38.4 cents greater than one year ago. It has decreased $1.606 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The 11-day streak of increases totaling 28.6 cents that boosted the Orange County average price to its highest amount since April 9 ended Monday when it was unchanged, remaining at $4.854.
The Orange County average price is 12.4 cents more than one week ago, 15.8 cents higher than one month ago and 44.2 cents greater than one year ago. It has decreased $1.604 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose one-tenth of a cent to $3.071 after three consecutive decreases totaling 1.4 cents, including three-tenths of a cent Sunday. It is 3.5 cents more than one week ago, but 2.9 cents less than one month ago and 1.4 cents lower than one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.945 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
