A small fire damaged a hallway at a construction site on the grounds of the Petersen Museum in the Miracle Mile area Monday, but no one was hurt.

Firefighters sent to the 6000 block of Wilshire Boulevard at 8:04 a.m. extinguished the flames in the lower-level hallway in nine minutes, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

None of the classic cars on display at the museum were damaged, Humphrey said. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
