A driver’s license and sobriety checkpoint in Rancho Mirage nabbed one drunk driver, sheriff’s officials said Sunday.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department conducted the checkpoint between 7 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. on Dinah Shore Drive east of Key Largo Avenue.
Additionally, nine people were cited for driving unlicensed or with a suspended license, according to Deputy Frank Avila.
Two citations were issued for other vehicle code violations and six vehicles were towed, he said.
The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
