A driver suffered moderate injuries in a rollover crash Sunday on a remote stretch of Interstate 10 about 25 miles east of Desert Center.
The single-car crash was reported just after 4 p.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway east of Ford Dry Lake, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The vehicle ended up in its roof about 75 feet from the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver was airlifted to a hospital, fire officials said.
A dog that had been in the upturned vehicle was seen wandering around the freeway after the crash occurred, the CHP said, prompting an animal control officer to be dispatched to the scene.
