Three houses were temporarily evacuated in Moreno Valley Saturday because of a small brush fire that has so far scorched about one-quarter acre of grass and 10 to 12 vehicles.

The blaze in the 11000 block of Kilgore Street was reported at 6:47 p.m., according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The structure threat caused by the fire has been stopped, the department reported.

Roads closures were implemented on Kilgore, Welby Place and Weber Avenue, the department said.

There’s no word yet if the fire has been knocked down or if the evacuations have been reversed.
