The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped one-tenth of a cent Sunday to $3.097, its second consecutive decrease after increasing for 13 of the previous 15 days to its highest amount since March 25.
The average price is 1.4 cents more than one week ago and 9.7 cents higher than one month ago, but 54.8 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The dropping wholesale price and rising supply “should at least temper the price increases we’ve been seeing,” Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager, told City News Service.
