A fire broke out in a building in Silver Lake Thursday evening, but fire crews extinguished the flames in about 30 minutes and no injuries were reported.
The fire was reported at 6:38 p.m. in the single-story structure in the 3200 block of Riverside Drive, near the Golden State (5) Freeway, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Sixty-three firefighters responded to the blaze, and the flames were out by 7:10 p.m., Humphrey said.
The building is the headquarters of the nonprofit materials reuse program L.A. Shares but was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
The fire’s cause was under investigation.
