A fire started Saturday in a first-floor unit of a Riverside apartment building and moved up the exterior to char the outside of the building.
The blaze was reported at 7:06 p.m. at 1970 Seventh St., according to Riverside Fire Department Battalion Chief Bruce Vanderhorst.
Fifty people were evacuated from the building, but firefighters put out the flames at 8:15 p.m., Vanderhorst said.
Three residents received treatment at the scene for minor injuries and released. No firefighters were hurt, he said.
One resident was displaced by the damage, which was estimated at $100,000.
