An estimated 3,537 customers lost power Thursday in La Quinta and Thermal, according to the Imperial Irrigation District.
The outage, reported at 11:21 a.m. over the district’s social media platforms, was said to be affecting customers in unspecified portions of those communities.
No restoration time was provided, and no cause for the outage was given.
The outages come as temperatures were expected to reach 111 degrees in portions of the Coachella Valley.
