A fire that sparked at a homeless encampment spread to a bus remanufacturing facility in Riverside Saturday before firefighters put it out.
The blaze was reported about 1 p.m. at Complete Coach Works in the 1800 block of Service Court, according to the Riverside City Fire Department.
Investigators determined that the fire ignited in a homeless encampment along the railroad tracks next to the facility’s engine repair enclosure. Fire officials said the radiant heat from the flames ignited the enclosure’s plastic covering, as well as engine parts and oil within.
The fire was knocked down within 10 minutes.
No injuries were reported.
