A pedestrian was killed by a Metro train in Long Beach Saturday.
Officers were dispatched at 8:52 p.m. Saturday to Long Beach Boulevard and 23rd Street about the incident, Long Beach police Lt. Jayson Torres told City News Service.
Fire department personnel determined the pedestrian was deceased at the scene, Torres said. A description of the person was not immediately available.
Long Beach Boulevard was closed in both directions between 23rd and Hill streets, and the public was asked to avoid the area, he said.
An investigation was underway, he said.
