Unlike politicians back east, one thing hopefuls for government offices don’t usually have to worry about on election day in Southern California is adverse weather holding down the voter turnout.

And Tuesday’s weather for this election day apparently won’t create any turnout problem.

It may be a bit cooler than many Southern Californians care for, but temperatures should be mild through most of the day after low clouds and fog burn off, especially along the coast.

The National Weather Service forecast for Los Angeles and vicinity on Tuesday calls for low clouds and fog in the morning then sunny. Highs from the mid 60s to around 70 at the beaches to the mid to upper 70s inland.

Tuesday night it will be mostly clear early then low clouds and fog. Lows in the mid 50s to around 60.

The forecast for Wednesday calls for low clouds and fog in the morning then sunny. Highs from the mid 60s to around 70 at the beaches to around 80 inland.

In Coastal Orange County the forecast for Tuesday calls for a cloudy morning and becoming partly cloudy. Highs

69 to 74.

Tuesday night it will be partly cloudy in the evening and then becoming cloudy. Patchy fog overnight. Lows 56 to 61.

Wednesday it will be cloudy in the morning and then becoming partly cloudy. Patchy fog in the morning. Highs 70 to 75.

The ultraviolet index level in the Los Angeles area for Tuesday is a very high 11, according to the weather service. A very high exposure level reading of 10, or greater, means a fair skinned person could suffer a sunburn in about four minutes if not protected.
