Where’s the sunny Southern California weather people in the east dream about?

Well, it’s not in the Los Angeles area, at least not yet. It’s June, so the traditional “June Gloom” is here.

The National Weather Service forecast for Los Angeles and vicinity on Thursday calls for low clouds and fog in the morning then sunny. Highs from the mid 60s to around 70 at the beaches to the mid 70s to around 80 inland.

Thursday night it will be mostly clear early then low clouds and fog. Lows around 60.

The forecast for Friday calls for low clouds and fog in the morning then sunny. Highs from around 70 at the beaches to the mid 70s to around 80 inland.

In Coastal Orange County the forecast for Thursday calls for cloudy skies in the morning, then becoming partly cloudy. Highs 68 to 73.

Thursday night it will be partly cloudy in the evening, then becoming cloudy. Lows 57 to 62.

Friday it will be cloudy in the morning, then becoming partly cloudy. Highs 68 to 73.

The ultraviolet index level in the Los Angeles area for Thursday is a very high 11, according to the weather service. A very high exposure level reading of 10, or greater, means a fair skinned person could suffer a sunburn in about four minutes if not protected.
