A rain-caused slide of mud and rocks Sunday closed Malibu Canyon Road about a mile south of the Malibu Canyon Tunnel in the Agoura Hills area, authorities said.
The slide was reported at 7:17 p.m. on Malibu Canyon Road near Piuma Road, the California Highway Patrol said.
A long-term closure was established at Francisco Ranch Road on the north and just south of the tunnel on the south, CHP Officer Tony Polizzi said.
Caltrans was sending a supervisor and trucks to the slide area to determine the length of the closure, he said.
