The coroner’s office Tuesday identified a 57-year-old man who was struck by a Metro train in Santa Monica.
Derrel Kenneth Burnett Jr., who was homeless, was struck by the train about 6 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Lincoln Boulevard and Colorado Avenue and died at a hospital.
No one on the train was injured.
The intersection was shut down for hours for the death investigation, according to the Santa Monica Fire Department.
