The sheriff’s bomb squad was at Metro’s Monrovia L Train — formerly the Gold Line — station Saturday afternoon investigating a “suspicious item” found on a train.
The “suspicious item” was discovered on the train as it pulled into the station about 3:55 p.m., Sheriff’s Transit Services spokesman Ramon Montenegro told City News Service.
“It was suspicious enough to call the Arson/Explosives Detail,” Montenegro said.
The Monrovia station was evacuated and trains were stopping at the Duarte Station on the east and Arcadia station on the west, he said.
