Eighteen-year-old Angel City FC forward Alyssa Thompson will replace Mallory Swanson on the U.S. women’s national team training camp roster for Tuesday’s exhibition against Ireland in St. Louis, U.S. Soccer announced Sunday.
Swanson suffered a torn patella tendon in her left knee near the end of the first half in the U.S.’ 2-0 victory over Ireland Saturday in Austin, Texas.
Thompson made her national team debut Oct. 7, entering the 2-1 exhibition loss against England at London’s Wembley Stadium in the 84th minute. She entered the 2-0 exhibition loss to Spain Oct. 11 in Pamplona in the 73rd minute.
Thompson is a senior at Harvard-Westlake School in Studio City.
