Residents of 33 mobile homes in Palm Desert were without power Sunday evening after flames damaged an underground electrical vault.
The fire was reported at 4:51 p.m. in the 43000 block of Portola Avenue, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The flames were out at 5:12 p.m., fire officials said.
Power was not expected to be restored until Monday afternoon and the Riverside County Emergency Management Department was helping affected residents, officials said.
