Two men and a woman were shot as they stood in the driveway of a home in South Los Angeles and the gunman remains at large, a police detective supervisor said.
The attack occurred at 10:05 p.m. Friday, at 719 W. 66th St., Los Angeles Police Detective Michael Lorenz, a supervisor in 77th Street Division gang unit told City News Service.
“The three victims were standing in the driveway talking and drinking when a man walked up and fired at them through a fence,” Lorenz said. “Then he ran from the scene and remains at large.”
Lorenz said the attack doesn’t appear to be gang-related. However, he doesn’t know what motivated the gunman to open fire on the trio.
“The victims told us they didn’t know the shooter,” Lorenz said. “He just walked up and started shooting at them. There was no conversation between the gunman and the victims.”
Lorenz said there was no firm description of the gunman so far.
“We haven’t located any eyewitnesses, just people who heard the shots,” he said.
The three people were transported to hospitals for treatment, Lorenz said. They were expected to recover, he added.
