Two Super Scooper aircraft, a helitanker, three helicopters and about 115 firefighters Friday made quick work of a brush fire in the Santa Susana Pass area of Chatsworth.

Los Angeles County firefighters, who led the attack on the blaze, said two small spot fires burned five acres total. No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened, said county fire Inspector Chris Reade.

The fire was reported at 10:41 a.m. alongside the westbound Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway east of Rocky Peak Road.

Engines from Los Angeles and Ventura counties and the Los Angeles Fire Department responded, initially unsure of who had jurisdiction at the location near the county line, and all participated in the firefight near Rocky Peak Park and Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park.

An early estimate that the fire burned 15 acres was adjusted downward based on an aerial estimate once the blaze was knocked down, according to Reade.
