A Crime Stoppers tip led to the seizure of marijuana worth an estimated $7.5 million at a growing operation in Compton.

Investigators served a search warrant about 9 a.m. at a warehouse in the 2900 block of Ana Street and discovered “a large sophisticated marijuana growing operation” where about 4,200 live plants and 200 pounds of cured pot were seized, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Twelve adults were arrested on suspicion of illegal marijuana cultivation and booked at the Century Regional Detention Center, where each was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail, officials said.

“The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time,” according to the sheriff’s department.
