A hit-and-run suspect was in custody Sunday after a woman directing traffic was struck and injured in the Los Feliz area.

The suspect drove off but was followed by the vehicle of the witness. The suspect eventually stopped trying to drive away and was held for authorities.

The woman was directing traffic near the intersection of Vermont Avenue and Los Feliz Boulevard around 10 p.m. Saturday when she was struck. It wasn’t clear if she is an LAPD employee, a private contractor or some other government worker.

The witness chased the hit-and-run driver in their vehicles. The suspect eventually pulled over near Hollywood Boulevard and was later taken into custody.
