The body of a man in his late 50s was found in south Santa Ana and is being processed as a homicide even though there were no signs of foul play, a police sergeant said Sunday.

The discovery was made at 9 p.m. Saturday in the 2100 block of South Main Street, said Santa Ana police Sgt. Oliver Grant.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and evidence was collected as if it was a homicide even though the body showed no sign of trauma, Grant said. The cause of death would be revealed in an autopsy later and police did not want to destroy any evidence in case it is needed.

A news videographer at the scene said the body was found inside an SUV parked behind a market.
