A vehicle caught fire on the right shoulder of the Santa Ana (5) Freeway in Anaheim Wednesday morning and prompted the closure of two lanes of the freeway until further notice.

The fire in a small four-door sedan was reported south of the Euclid Street exit about 4:45 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Witnesses reported someone standing outside the vehicle waving their arms, trying to get help, the CHP said.

Details of what led up to the vehicle fire were not immediately available.

A SigAlert was issued for the Nos. 3 and 4 lanes of the freeway.
