A half-cent drop Monday to $5.459 extended the run of decreases to the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County to 34 in 35 days.
The average price has dropped 70.7 cents over the past 35 days, including 1 cent Sunday, to its lowest amount since March 13, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It decreased 27 consecutive days, was unchanged last Monday and resumed dropping Tuesday.
The average price is 12.8 cents less than one week ago and 64.7 cents lower than one month ago, but 87.1 cents more than one year ago.
The run of 45 decreases in 46 days to the Orange County average price totaling 85.9 cents ended with an increase of three-tenths of a cent to $5.336. It dropped three consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent May 17 and resumed dropping May 18.
The Orange County average price is 11.9 cents less than one week ago and 69 cents lower than one month ago, but 82.6 cents more than one year ago.
The national average price dropped for the 38th time in 39 days, falling seven-tenths of a cent to $3.86, its lowest amount since March 18. It has dropped 70.4 cents over the past 39 days, including 1.1 cents Sunday.
The national average price is 6.9 cents less than one week ago and 53.1 cents lower than one month ago, but 67.3 cents more than one year ago. It dropped 33 consecutive days, rose two-tenths of a cent Wednesday and resumed decreasing Thursday.
