An 18-year-old woman was found Friday after being reported missing nearly two years ago after leaving a Santa Ana home where she had been placed by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.
Shakiya Griffin left the home on Jan. 23, 2018, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
Griffin’s case with DCFS was closed, but police said they wanted to contact her to make sure she was okay and close the missing persons case.
Authorities issued a public notice in late November through the #MissingMondays campaign to ask for help to find the woman.
Police said Griffin was safely located.
