Coroner’s officials have identified the 30-year-old man killed in a two-vehicle crash that also injured two others Sunday in San Jacinto.

According to the Riverside Country sheriff’s officials, just before 6 a.m., a white Acura sedan occupied by three people stopped in the No. 3 lane on the eastbound Ramona Expressway near Sanderson Avenue.

Investigators said they don’t know why the vehicle stopped.

A tanker truck then slammed into the back of it, knocking it onto the dirt shoulder, sheriff’s officials said.

The driver of the Acura, Michael Arellanes of Ontario, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Riverside County coroner’s office.

Two others suffered moderate injuries and were taken to a hospital.
