Firefighters knocked down a small brush fire Saturday that scorched an estimated half-acre of grass in Elysian Park.

The fire that ignited near 1381 N. Broadway was reported at 4:25 p.m., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.

The department dispatched 32 firefighters to the scene and extinguished the flames in about 37 minutes, Prange said.

No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened, he said.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
