A 35-year-old man fatally shot in an apparent gang-related attack in Long Beach, police announced Saturday.

The shooting happened about 11:25 p.m. Friday near the intersection of 14th Street and Olive Avenue, according to Long Beach police.

Responding officers found a man lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper and lower body, police reported.

He identified as Tony Chamroeun of Long Beach, police said. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Chamroeun was standing near his residence when he was killed, police reported. Detectives learned the gunman got out of a dark-colored sedan, shot Chamroeun, then fled the scene.

Police have no suspect description at this time.
