Firefighters from the Los Angeles Fire Department will begin their annual “Fill the Boot” fundraising program Wednesday — seeking donations at numerous intersections throughout the city to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

“The United Firefighters of Los Angeles Local 112 has collected critical funds in the community since 1954 — one dollar at a time — as part of the Fill the Boot program for the Muscular Dystrophy Association,” LAFD Capt. Erik Scott said.

“Firefighters with the Los Angeles City Fire Department will be continuing this longstanding tradition as its members kick off the annual program raising funds to support MDA’s vision to accelerate research, advance care and advocate for the support of MDA families.”

Between 8 a.m. and noon on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, the firefighters will be asking pedestrians, motorists, business customers and other passersby at these locations to donate to MDA, Scott said:
