Authorities on Friday released the names of a motorcyclist and his female passenger who were killed when their bike went through a red light and struck a car at an intersection in Pasadena.
The crash occurred at 7:59 p.m. on Oct. 2 at North Lake Avenue and East Union Street.
The motorcyclist was identified as 24-year-old Kirk Allan Mirkamali of Monrovia, and his passenger was Darling Elizabeth Avila, 26, of Los Angeles, a coroner’s lieutenant told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
The two were rushed to Huntington Memorial Hospital, where they died from their injuries, Lt. John Mercado of the Pasadena Police Department said.
The motorist — who was about to make a left turn onto Union Street from northbound Lake Avenue — was not injured in the crash, Mercado said.
