A man who was running across lanes on the northbound Interstate 15 in Rancho Cucamonga was struck and killed by a vehicle, the California Highway Patrol reported Sunday.
The crash occurred at 8:17 p.m Saturday on the I15 at 4th Street where the pedestrian was hit by a white SUV, the CHP said.
Multiple vehicles, including the SUV, stopped to help after the man was found lying in the No. 2 lane, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
The Nos. 1, 2 and 3 lanes were closed while the investigation continued.
