A homeless man was in the hospital Monday morning after he was shot by another man in the Lincoln Heights area of Los Angeles.
The shooting occurred at 1:50 a.m. in the area of Avenue 23 and Humboldt Street, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
The 39-year-old victim was standing in the area when he was approached by a man believed between 40 and 45 years old, the officer said. The suspect told the man to get out of the area and then shot him.
Paramedics took the victim to a hospital where his vital signs were stable, the officer said.
